Co-Owner, Director, Instructor

Throughout Miss Vickie’s years of dance she has always aspired to become a dance instructor. She started dancing at the age of three in Caroline Dance West, and later danced with Sylvan Studios. Through her 13+ years as a teacher her students have received awards such as First place overall, scholarships to Intensives around the world, Most outstanding and Most promising awards. Miss Vickie has been awarded Best overall Choreography at multiple competitions and has taken home 4 different Grand Championships at Central Alberta Dance Festivals.

Miss Vickie is a fully certified ADAPT instructor completing three years of training in Toronto through the guidance of Mr. and Mrs. Foley. She is certified in her Junior and Intermediate Acrobatique Acro dance syllabus and has most recently certified in Alixa Flexibility Level 1 and 2 stretch and conditioning syllabi.

Miss Stef started dancing when she was 5 years old taking ballet at Caroline Dance West. Through her 13 years of competitive dance, her goal was always to become a dance instructor. After getting a taste of dance, she started to take more classes in various styles, including Tap, Jazz, Musical Theater, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip hop, and Pointe. After graduating high school, Miss Stef continued her dance career in Red Deer where she eventually became a dance instructor. Miss Stef has taught dance for 8 years total - this being her second year with Westland Dance Co. Miss Stef enjoys all dance styles. However, her favourites are Tap, Hip Hop, and Contemporary. After taking a couple years off of dance to have her son, Liam, Miss Stef is more excited than ever to be back at Westland!

"I started dancing when I was 9 years old. Throughout these years I’ve started training in Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, an lyrical and have fallen in love with each art form. I’m so excited to be taking on more challenges of not only being a dancer at Westland Dance Co. but being an instructor there as well. I’m so happy I get to be a part of growing each of these young dancers love an passion for dance just like Miss Vickie did for me."

"I started dancing when I was in 3rd grade, and I knew from the first lyrical class I took with Miss Vickie that I was going to live and breathe dance. Throughout the years I have competed in group numbers, solos, duets, and small groups in nearly all genres including jazz, ballet, musical theatre, tap, hip hop, contemporary, and lyrical. I have acquired multiple grand championships, awards, and scholarships during my time as a competitive dancer. I’m so excited to share my experience and skills with the future generation of WDC dancers and I will continue to strive to be the coach, mentor, and friend that my dance instructors were to me."

Miss Alyssa started dancing when she was 4 years old, taking tap. She was raised in Central Alberta and danced at a few local studios as she grew up, with the dream of becoming a Dance Instructor! From there she started taking extra disciplines -Jazz, Ballet, Pointe, Musical Theatre, Lyrical, and Hip Hop, assisting, and later on teaching. With over 15 years teaching experience, Alyssa is a fully Certified ADAPT instructor for Tap and Jazz, Wymbin Children’s Yoga, and Acrobatic Art Level 1&2 winning the Dale White scholarship - exemplifying a passion for creativity - in her 2nd year. She has attended many teacher’s courses and conferences in Central Alberta, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, and New York. Her numbers have received top awards at competitions/festivals including Top Choreography. Alyssa loves to teach all disciplines but has a soft spot in her heart for Musical Theatre, Tap, Hip Hop, and pre school classes! Alyssa Co-owns Westland Dance Co. with Miss Vickie. When Alyssa is not teaching, you can find her hanging out with her kids Zella and Corbin, her husband Brady, and their new puppy Bandit.

Miss Christina started dancing at the age of 3 at Red Deer College. What started as ballet and jazz classes soon expanded into modern, pointe, Highland and others. For the last 9 years Miss Christina has been involved in Red Deer's production of the Nutcracker as the Director's assistant. Prior to this she spent her years dancing as various characters in the production. She is very excited to start her first season at WDC and can't wait to spread her passion for ballet and her love of dance!

Keira Purdy was 4 years old when she began her dance journey here in Rocky Mountain House. Keira has explored many different dance disciplines such as ballet, pointe, lyrical, tap, jazz, variety, and contemporary. Since Keira was 4 she has primarily focused on her passion for the art of ballet. Keira welcomes its physical and technical demands and the beauty and grace it presents on stage. This past season Keira decided to pursue her love for pointe and ballet by attending Joy’s School of dance where she could train and complete her level 7 ballet RAD exam. Keira has won many top scores and awards for her ballet solos including a Be Discovered scholarship. Keira looks forward to continue to challenge herself in the dance industry by welcoming a position this season at Westland Dance Co. She is excited to give back to a dance school that has brought her so much joy and has fueled her love for dance for the past 12 years!

"My name is Brianna Laperriere, I am 18 years old and freshly graduated from high school.

I began dancing in 2010 starting out in hip hop, and continued to dance until 2021. Over the years I danced and competed in Jazz, ballet, lyrical, Acrobatics, musical theatre and hip hop, but absolutely fell in love with lyrical an\d contemporary from the very start. Dance has brought me so many great memories, friends, lessons, and confidence.

I am very excited to share my passion and knowledge with the younger generation of dancers."
